Hi, I’m Caroline (Markowitz) Driesman, MS, RDN, CDN.

I understand that every person and every body is different. Rather than follow nutrition fads, I use a common sense approach grounded in science and data. I listen to your lifestyle, nutrition needs, and preferences, tailoring advice to fit your life. My goal is to improve your health and well-being while helping you appreciate the joy of food.

Caroline (Markowitz) Driesman is a Registered Dietitian who earned her MS in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her master’s thesis proposed a sports nutrition program aimed at reducing disordered eating in female adolescent athletes.

As a lifelong athlete and Division I lacrosse player at Princeton University, Caroline struggled to adopt both balanced nutrition and a positive body image, a mental battle common among her teammates in both high school and college. Learning the science behind food and how our bodies work helped Caroline heal this mismatched thinking and become an even stronger athlete and person.

Caroline is passionate about helping both recreational and elite athletes, and people suffering from eating disorders and disordered eating adopt balanced nutrition to perform better, live fulfilled, and celebrate food. These issues are not unique to athletes, but apply to everyone.

Before attending graduate school, living in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Caroline founded granola and healthy lifestyle company, Born to Crunch. She was inspired by the needs and experiences of her fellow endurance athletes playing and competing in the demanding conditions of the Tetons and Rocky Mountains. Her career in nutrition naturally followed.

During her Dietetic Internship, Caroline worked in a variety of settings including Slow Food USA, New York State Psychiatric Institute, Harlem Hospital OBGYN Clinic and Bariatric Clinic, Mount Sinai Eating and Weight Disorders Center, and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC).

After completing her internship, Caroline assisted a USOPC Senior Dietitian at USA Swimming Team’s training camp preparatory to the Tokyo Olympics. There, Caroline made sure athletes had access to, and received, optimal nutrition prior to Olympic competition.
